Project: Advertising with Motion
Class: Raster Graphics with Adobe Photoshop
As is the way of the world, a lot of graphic design is about learning to market it to make money. I love making designs for fun, but it's also about making things that can sell.

This assignment taught us about using motion to create visually interesting advertisements. For this assignment brief, we got to choose any athletic brand that we wanted, and build an ad around it.

I wants something that I could really play with, and swimwear fit the bill. One of the most important elements of an advertisement is that the brand is completely visible for the viewers to recognize, so it took me a minute to find an image that would allow the brand to fit perfectly. But once I found this picture, I knew it would be ~perfect~.

Wanting to keep eye movement within the image and flow with the motion of the water, I was very selective about where I placed each element of the ad.

All elements on top of the image were added to continue the motion of the water, by bringing the eye from the top left of the image, down to the bottom right, where the water would then bring the eye up to the top right of the image.

The lettering was intentionally tilted to the right to match the motion of the water and connect to the forward motion of the sport.
